What is the World Series of Darts? 

The PDC World Series of Darts is a 4-day festival of competitions featuring regional talent and the PDC’s world ranked players. Annual WSOD festivals take place all across the world including Dubai, Asia, Germany, Australia, and New Zealand. The North America event is being held at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas on July 2-5, 2019.

New details for 2019!

  • The PDC events will be held from July 2-5 this year at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, beginning with two days of qualifiers ahead of the US Darts Masters and North American Championship.
  • Four qualifying events will be held across July 2-3 for players to win places in the two-stage events.
  • Update 20 May 2019 – Eligibility For Entry -The US Masters and North American Darts Championship is open to players over the age of 16 who hold a valid USA or Canada passport (regardless of residence in the USA or Canada) OR players who reside in the USA or Canada and have done so for a continuous period of three years immediately dating back from the day of the event. Residency is defined as having their main place of residence registered in the territory.

  • Entry costs £70 per qualifier (approx $100 USD) and all events will be played under DRA Rules. Players can enter as many or few of the four Qualifiers as they wish.
  • Players who enter a  minimum of two (2) Qualifiers will receive two complimentary tickets to each session of the stage events on July 4-5.
  • Hotel accommodation at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino can be booked at the dedicated PDC group rate – Click Here
  • Players are not required to stay at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino but are welcome to take advantage of the booking rates via the link above.
  • The US Darts Masters will be held on July 4 & 5 (Midday start for both days), with the North American Championship being held on July 4 (6 pm start).

World Series Background

The World Series of Darts was introduced in 2013 by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC), and in 2019 will feature five international tournaments before the season-ending World Series of Darts Finals in the Netherlands.

The World Series of Darts has also previously visited Dubai, Singapore, Shanghai, Tokyo, Yokohama, Sydney, Perth and Auckland, with Cologne and Hamilton hosting international events for the first time this year.

Each international event will feature 16 players, with the World Series of Darts Finals being a 24-
player event.

What events can North Americans enter?  (Qualifiers July 2 & 3)

All North American players (US and Canadian citizens) over the age of 16 are invited to register for the event qualifiers – 4 separate tournaments played across the first 2 days (July 2 and 3) that provide 4 separate chances to advance. Top 8 qualifiers will advance to two separate main events, the North American Championship (July 4) and the US Darts Masters (July 4-5).  The registration fee for the qualifiers is $100usd/each.

What is the North American Championship? (July 4)

The North American Championship is a competition between the top 8 players from the qualifiers. This will be played on the stage for a top prize of $10,000, plus the winner will be invited to compete at the PDC World Championships at the end of the year in the UK.

What is the US Darts Masters? (July 4-5)

The US Darts Masters will have 8 world-ranked PDC professionals play versus the same 8 qualifiers who competed in the North American Championship. This will be televised worldwide and the top prize is $20,000.

How are the Top 8 North Americans determined?

The top 8 qualifiers selected for the North American Championship and the US Darts Masters will consist of the following: 4 First Place finishers (one from each qualifier) plus the 4 next highest money earners from all four qualifiers combined (order of merit).

What’s the prize money? 

Qualifier Total Prize Fund: $60,000 USD – When a qualifier reaches a 128 player field, winning a single match in any qualifier will earn Top 64 prize money which is $100. Win another match and earn $200. If you advance through the qualifiers, you are guaranteed a minimum of $2,500 in additional prize money and a shot at over $30,000 from the NADC and US Masters.

2019 US Darts Masters/North American Darts Championship Schedule

  • Tuesday, July 2 – North American Qualifiers One and Two
  • Wednesday, July 3 – North American Qualifiers Three and Four
  • Thursday, July 4 – US Masters Last 16 (1200 start) and North American Darts Championship (1800 start)
  • Friday, July, 5 – US Masters Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and Final (1200 start)

Match Format: Progressive, Opening Round Best of 11
Prize Money:  1st: $20,000; 2nd: $10,000; 3-4: $5,000; Top 8: $2,500; First Round Losers: $1,250 (guaranteed minimum prize for all qualifiers)

ADDITIONAL NOTES

  • Registration Deadline: June 28, 2019 – 11:00 AM US Eastern Time (0600 BST)
  • The qualifiers are paying out over $60K, by far the highest prize fund available to North American steel tip players
  • Players ARE NOT REQUIRED to stay at the Mandalay Bay in order to play in the tournament.
  • You must be a US or Canadian citizen over the age of 16 to register for the competition.
  • Players who enter a minimum of two (2) Qualifiers will receive two complimentary tickets to each session of the stage events on July 4-5.
  • Additional tickets must be purchased to watch the staged NA Championships and US Darts Masters; these can be purchased by the day or for the entire event.
  • Players who win through the qualifiers will be refunded their entry fees for any subsequent qualifiers
  • All events to be played under the rules of the Darts Regulation Authority (DRA) with respect to conduct and dress code
  • Players will receive a “Player’s Briefing” in advance of the event with additional details
