What is a DartConnect Digital Steel Event?

A “Digital Steel Event” is any steel tip competition that has registered with DartConnect linking multiple tablets to create an elevated tournament experience for both staff and players.

The Digital Steel Experience

DartConnect Digital Steel is a fully integrated solution, keeping players and fans updated in real time, without the frantic effort and tedious record keeping associated with traditional solutions. This platform provides event organizers with a turnkey solution for running any size competition.

Pre Event

We begin by:

Promoting your event with DartConnect TV
Enabling players to “check-in”, signaling their intent to attend.
Upon arrival at the venue, players self-register on touchscreen devices
Staff utilizes our cashier station to confirm entries and collect fees.

When registration closes, our bracket program automates the draw and initiates board assignments.

Live Darts!

With the event underway:

Players receive competition notifications to their smartphone
The Players match assignment awaits on the corresponding tablet.
DC Fan Alerts notifies their friends and fans of the pending contest.

Your DCTV Channel expands your audience beyond the walls of the event hall, engaging those who cannot attend.

Post Match

But Wait, There is More:

Once the match is complete, a result notification returns to the control desk.
Event staff advance the bracket, adjust the event standings, and update the player performance leaderboard with a single mouse click.
In the meantime, every player receives a detailed match report, highlighting their best efforts.

*100% Tablet coverage is NOT required for Pro Events. For events that utilize manual scoring with tablets, a paper slip process can be run in parallel, with the bracket program recording results for both slips and tablets, to merge math results in the bracket and standings.

Not Ready for a Pro Event?

Enhance Your Existing Event: While the Digital Steel platform can be tailored for any size event, it is optimized for an event that has 100% tablet coverage. If your primary goal is to enable electronic scoring, and encourage players to bring their own tablets, you can still utilize the original DartConnect Service. Use in conjunction with your own bracket solution, and reduce your dependence on scoring volunteers!

DartConnect Standard Service: We provide you with a tournament code that connects participating tablets enabling you to share a master tournament list and aggregate player performance data. This allows you to utilize your existing bracket solution (electronic or manual), while accommodating those players who prefer electronic scoring.

Need Even More tablets? The American Darts Organization has aquired 32 tablets and will be making them available for ADO sanctioned events. They are available for the same rental rates and conditions as the DartConnect tablets.

Support Options

Comfortable with Technology?

We can provide a training tournament to acquaint you with the basics and then we encourage you to try it “live” at a small local competition with 4-8 boards to get a feel for how the control desk interacts with the tablets in a wifi environment. Often this is all that is necessary to feel comfortable running a larger tournament.

New to DartConnect?

Anxious to integrate the Digital Steel Experience into your event, but want to ensure it is the experience players expect? Arrange to have a Digital Steel Coordinator on site. They will work directly with your staff to ensure they can run the next event confidently.

Support Fees

For first time events, we do not charge for a site visit but expect out of pocket expenses such as travel, lodging and baggage fees to be covered by the event. Contact us to determine how we can minimize these expenditures. This service is limited to approximately 10 events per year, and available on a first come, first serve basis – inquire now!
